A note from our Principal

May 22, 2026

Dear Families,

Thank you so much for your support and for an incredible school year. It is such an honor to work and learn with all of you!

This summer newsletter is jam packed with ways for you to stay connected and for your kids to have fun this summer. Enjoy the next few months and we can't wait to welcome all of our Taft Tigers back on August 12!

Also, if you didn't already see it, please take a moment to review and leave feedback for our district's long term facilities planning. Your voices are an important part of the picture, and this information will be used by our district leadership to plan for the future.

In deep appreciation,

Amy Collinge

Join the Taft Family Collective!

Taft doesn’t have a traditional PTO or PTA. We have a unique parent group called the Taft Family Collective who focuses on family engagement and supporting the school and teachers in a variety of ways.
In the past, TFC has organized school-wide events like skate night at Treasure Valley Skate (2024) and POJOs night (2025). This year our TFC hosted two park gatherings at Sunset Park and are directing the rest of their efforts (and funds) toward providing free yearbooks for every Taft student. If you would like to cover the cost of your child's yearbook (about $12/book), or support this and other Taft Family Collective initiatives, please make a donation here. All donations will be listed as "Taft Family Collective."

Raising Awareness About Technology

For the past several years we have seen an increase in concerns related to students' use of electronic devices and social media platforms outside of school hours. If you have not already, please ensure that you are regularly monitoring any electronic devices and social media accounts that you allow your child to access, for their safety as much as the safety of others. At school we use Classwize to monitor student use of technology during the day. At home you can set up Qustodio to do the same thing. Here are some resources with additional information:

Online Registration is still Open for Kindergarten!

Do you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1? If you haven't already, it is time to register them for kindergarten! Please share this with friends and neighbors to help us reach more kindergartners. Please reach out to Mrs. Enrico (colista.enrico@boiseschools.org) with any questions or to schedule a registration appointment if you need assistance.
