Students glowed at student led conferences.

A note from our Principal

November 2, 2026

Dear Families,

This has been an amazing first quarter at Taft. I am so impressed with your deep commitment to our community, to your children, and to our team. Thank you!  We love having your kids here and we are honored to work with you. Student-led conferences were a highlight of October. Our district is seeking feedback on conferences and report cards, you can share that here.

Thanks to a generous donation from one of our community partners, we are able to gift T-Shirts to every single Taft student this week!  On Monday, before our next reading assessment, your kids will come home with a shirt celebrating our community schools goals.  Please encourage them to wear it with pride!  We will wear ours on Fridays, but they can wear it all they want. Our goals this year are to ensure that everyone is welcome and belongs at Taft (every learner), that all learners make substantial growth in literacy (grows), and that all students attend regularly and on time (every day). If you want to contribute to efforts like these please donate or share our foundation donation site!

This month school is closed for Election Day on November 3.  Please vote and visit our Taft Family Collective's annual Election Day Bake Sale here at Taft!

Our Taft Tiger P.R.I.D.E. trait for November is respect. After school this week you might ask your child(ren):
  • What does it feel like when people show you respect?
  • Who are people you greatly respect? Why?
  • What are ways that we show respect at home? At school?

Thanks for your support and many contributions to make Taft a place where every learner grows every day.

In deep appreciation,

Amy Collinge
Principal & Lead Learner
